Great theme and an opening photo to challenge us all. It is very appealing with all those repeating curves and the gold color at the bottom repeating at the top. I very much like the lighting.
I do have a question. I'm assuming you used your 50mm lens since the right side of the photo is less focused than the left. But, the middle plate (with the pattern on the rim) is also blurred. Any idea why?
The colors in this photo remind me of the first house i lived in, it reminds me of thanksgiving and using up lots of dishes. I like the way we can only see half of each dish because it puts the focus on the height.
Really like the warm colors. Love the composition. This has a real "homey" feel, just what a kitchen should express!
This makes me think of my Maternal grandmother who did tons and tons of ceramics, including lots of plates. Happy memories!

Anita, I didn't use the 50mm, but my new 28-135mm, and as I am not that familiar with the lens yet I have no idea how the focus is in the middle and not on the foreground... I know the 50mm does 'look' for the closet thing to focus on, so this shot with the 50mm would have looked different. Perhaps Shannon, who is an expert with the 28-135 could chime in....
